It offers safe and comfortable transportation to its passengers with its developed land and airline networks for domestic transportation. Discounted prices are offered to students in public transportation. Students can use transportation vehicles, such as buses, minibuses and metro at a discount.
Luxury buses are the most preferred for intercity travelling. Buses, which provide food and beverage, internet and TV services, are quite affordable compared to planes.
State-supported railway transportation is also widely used since it is affordable. There are high-speed trains on the Ankara-Konya-Ankara, Konya-Eskişehir-İstanbul (Pendik)-Konya and Ankara-Eskişehir-İstanbul (Pendik)-Ankara lines, and conventional trains on the other lines. The goverment continues to work on new high-speed train lines.

From city to city, the transportation possibilities vary. As you will encounter in all metropolises of the world, traffic can be seen during busy business hours in Turkey's big cities. Thanks to public transportation, which is developed day by day, urban traffic is prevented to somehow. For example, it is possible to travel between the Asian and European sides of Istanbul using metro, ferry and bus.
In some cities, in addition to public transportation operated by municipalities, there are also private buses and minibuses.
