Established in 2008 by the Mehmet Altınbaş Education and Culture Foundation under the name "Istanbul Kemerburgaz University," the institution was renamed "Altınbaş University" in 2017. With the name change and the backing of Altınbaş Holding, the university began advancing rapidly and confidently towards new and competitive goals. Altınbaş University welcomed its first students in the 2011-2012 academic year and quickly made significant strides toward becoming an international research university. During this period, the university has continued to create value in the scientific field through obtained patents, TÜBİTAK projects, and leadership at international congresses.
Altınbaş University comprises 10 Faculties, 1 Graduate School, and 3 Vocational Schools, offering a total of 26 undergraduate, 11 associate degree, 60 master's, and 13 doctoral programs. In line with its goal of becoming international, over 6,000 of the more than 10,000 students studying at the university come from 105 different countries around the world. By synchronizing its education and technology with other institutions globally and maintaining a continuous development methodology, Altınbaş University supports innovation and independent research opportunities. The university operates with a mission to foster social responsibility and prioritize problem-solving.
