Bartın is a city in the Black Sea Region, renowned for its natural beauty and historical richness. With a history dating back to 1200 BC, Bartın has hosted many civilizations, including the Hittites, Phrygians, Persians, Byzantines, and Ottomans. The city takes its name from the Bartın River, which is the only navigable river in Turkey.

Bartın's cuisine is rich with flavors reflecting the region’s nature. Local dishes like kabak burması, pumpum soup, and tirit, along with Bartın bagels, stand out. Seafood is also a significant part of the local diet.

Historic wooden houses resembling those in Safranbolu, Amasra Castle, Kuşkayası Road Monument, and İnkum Beach are among Bartın’s major attractions.
