Interdisciplinary Science Rankings
Four Turkish universities ranked among the top 100, and 10 in the top 200 in the Interdisciplinary Science Rankings.
The Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Science Rankings (ISR) is the first of its kind to measure universities' contributions to and commitment to interdisciplinary research. It includes 11 performance indicators calibrated to evaluate institutions in three core areas that represent a stage in the life cycle of research projects: inputs (funding); process (performance metrics, facilities, administrative support, and promotion); and outputs (publications, research quality, and reputation).
With 10 universities in the top 200 of the Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Science Rankings, Turkey is among the top 5 best-represented countries.
In the ranking, 4 Turkish universities were among the top 100, and 10 in the top 200. Turkey ranked second in the world in terms of the number of universities included in the ranking. Koç University (41), Sabancı University (64), Istanbul Technical University (76), and Boğaziçi University (90) were among the top 100.
With 10 universities in the top 200, Turkey was also among the top 5 best-represented countries in the ranking.
Of the top 10 universities, 7 were from the United States, 2 from Singapore, and 1 from the Netherlands.
In the ranking, which includes a total of 749 universities, the country with the most universities was India with 65, followed by Turkey with 45, Russia and the United States with 38 each, and Japan with 33.
