Established by Law No. 6495 published in the Official Gazette on 02/08/2013 and subject to the provisions of Law No. 2547 on Foundation Higher Education Institutions, Yuksek Ihtisas University is a foundation university with legal personality. It commenced its educational activities in the Faculty of Medicine in 2015 with 51 students and will graduate its first cohort in the 2020-2021 academic year.

The university has expanded its educational activities by opening various undergraduate and associate degree programs to fill an important gap in the field of health sciences. Within the Faculty of Health Sciences, departments of Nutrition and Dietetics and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation have been established, and Nursing and Health Management departments have also been founded. Various programs have been initiated at the School of Health Services to train technicians.

For the 2023-2024 academic year, the university aims to further expand and strengthen its position in health sciences with new associate degree programs and collaboration agreements. Four new programs have been added to the School of Health Services, and programs in Computer Programming and Pharmacy Services have also been introduced. Additionally, the university has taken a significant step in clinical fields by signing collaboration agreements with Medical Park and Liv Hospitals.

Yuksek Ihtisas University, located in the capital Ankara, is progressing with determined steps towards its goal of becoming a leading university in health sciences with the slogan "University of Collective Wisdom". The expanding educational programs in various fields and the established collaborations demonstrate the university's potential and determination.
