Uskudar University was established with the aim of contributing to society in the field of mental health and producing solutions to problems. The university aims to provide students with both a good profession and human values through the university-hospital-business partnership model.
On May 25, 1999, the Turkey Branch of Memory Centers of America was opened on Istanbul's Baghdad Street. The Memory Center became the first center in Turkey to implement "Brain Check Up" and "Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)."
In 2000, the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit was established at the Memory Center.
In June 2009, Turkey's first Clinical Pharmacogenetics Laboratory in Neuropsychiatry was established.
On March 3, 2011, Uskudar University was founded with the title of "Turkey's first thematic university."
In 2011, with the establishment of the university, the Institute of Social Sciences and the Institute of Health Sciences were established.
In the 2012-2013 academic year, Uskudar University admitted its first students.
In 2013, the Institute of Natural Sciences was established.
In 2014, Uskudar University established the Institute of Sufi Studies, a first in Turkey.
In 2015, Uskudar University was appointed as the representative of the Brain Initiative Program initiated by US President Obama in Turkey.
In 2015, Uskudar University planted 3,000 trees in Sile, creating the Uskudar University Memorial Forest.
In 2015, Uskudar University Publishing House was established.
In 2016, Uskudar University and NPİSTANBUL Brain Hospital opened a center in Cologne, Germany.
In 2016, Uskudar University added a Children's Occupational Therapy Unit to the NP Etiler Medical Center.
On April 9, 2016, the Institute of Addiction and Forensic Sciences was established.
Uskudar University presents the High Human Values Awards to individuals who have contributed to society in 2016.
Uskudar University opened the Department of Forensic Sciences in 2017, a first in Turkey.
In 2017, Uskudar University opened the NPİSTANBUL Brain Hospital, formerly known as the Neuropsychiatry Hospital.
Uskudar University has a total of five faculties: Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Human and Social Sciences, Faculty of Communication, and Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences.
Uskudar University has been declared a "Center of Excellence" by UNESCO for its work in Neurobiology, Cognitive Medicine, and Brain Research.
Uskudar University opened the Uskudar Dental Hospital in 2023.
