Başkent University was established in the 1980s by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Haberal as an educational and health institution. The university's founding aim is to create a contemporary education system and meet the needs of higher education.
Established in 1994, the university aims to train individuals who are knowledgeable and experienced in various fields such as health, education, humanities, law, communication, arts, environment, industry, commerce, and technology, who are competitive, and who attach importance to international relations.
Educational activities are carried out at Başkent University's three different campuses. The university has 11 faculties, 1 state conservatory, 6 vocational schools, 7 institutes, and a foreign languages school. In addition, various research and application centers and hospitals providing health services are affiliated with the university.
