Bilkent, Turkey's first foundation university, has a rich history. Preparations for its establishment began in 1967 and it was established on a large plot of land in the west of Ankara. Built on these foundations, the university today has a leading position in the field of research with over 50,000 graduates.
Bilkent University was founded on October 20, 1984 by the İhsan Doğramacı Foundation. Today, the university offers 29 undergraduate and 59 graduate programs in 3 world-renowned institutes and 10 faculties with over 12,000 students and faculty members from 39 countries.
