Istanbul Esenyurt University was established on June 18, 2013, by the Yeşilköy 2001 Education, Culture, and Health Foundation, in accordance with the Turkish Constitution, Higher Education Law No. 2547, and the regulations governing Foundation Higher Education Institutions. The university was officially founded with the publication of Law No. 6492 in the Official Gazette No. 28681. It aims to develop participatory, innovative, and entrepreneurial individuals who are committed to the fundamental principles and values of the Constitution.
The university began its educational journey in the fall semester of the 2013-2014 academic year, enrolling 296 students through the additional placement system across 6 departments and 8 programs.
