Their university's history traces back to the Bandırma Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, which was established on July 3, 1993, and started its education and training activities with the Departments of Economics and Business Administration on October 18, 1993. In the same year, Bandırma Vocational School commenced its education and training activities, and in the following years, Gönen Vocational School, Manyas Vocational School, Erdek Vocational School, and Bandırma Health Vocational School started their education and training activities within Balıkesir University.
With the slogan "A Bridge to the Future," our university has found its place in higher education. Continuing its educational, training, and research activities, our university operates with a total of 12 faculties, 4 institutes, 1 school, 9 vocational schools, and 19 application and research centers spread across 11 campuses. As of 2023, our university has 23,169 students (including 2,450 international students) and 1,054 academic and administrative staff. In line with our university's goals, we aim to enhance the quality of education and training to produce competitive and competent individuals, increase international collaboration and student-staff dynamics, improve education and training programs within the framework of international standards, and develop institutional identity.
