Established in accordance with the will of educator and entrepreneur Mehmet Bulut, but realized by Nilüfer Bulut following his sudden death, the Bulut Education Foundation began its journey by providing scholarships to numerous young people, ensuring the continuation of their education, and initiating efforts to establish a university.
Founded by the Bulut Education Foundation, Istanbul Galata University acquired legal personality and was established by Law No. 7176, accepted on 30.05.2019 and published in the Official Gazette on 12.06.2019. The Foundation established Istanbul Galata University with the aim of investing in human capital beyond buildings and technology. The university adopts a contemporary educational approach aimed at nurturing young people who are indigenous and national, possessing leadership qualities, entrepreneurial, productive, happy, and integrated with love.
Istanbul Galata University commenced its educational activities in 2020, offering education in a total of 4 faculties, 1 vocational school, and 21 departments. The university is committed to educating its students as competent individuals, keeping up with global changes, developing international collaborations, and growing every day.
While representing history and rootedness, Istanbul Galata University also serves as a bridge between cultures. It aims to provide its students with a bright future by offering an environment where diversity, change, and values are preserved. The name of the university symbolizes not only rootedness and value but also serves as a bridge between cultures, closeness to the business world, and innovation.
Its mission is to educate successful individuals who have passed through contemporary education, are self-confident, happy, loving, and equipped with a consciousness to serve humanity.
Its vision is to have an educational approach in line with universal changes and values, and to educate students who embrace these values from culture to art. Moreover, aiming to serve as a bridge between the multiculturalism of the Galata district and the construction of the future, they aim to guide young people towards professions in which they will be productive and happy, providing them with job opportunities rather than focusing solely on diplomas.
