Afyonkarahisar Health Sciences University (AFSU) was established on May 18, 2018, as a health-themed university with the aim of training qualified healthcare professionals, conducting scientific research in the field of health, and contributing to healthcare technology and pharmaceutical production. AFSU, separated from Afyon Kocatepe University, consists of 4 faculties, 3 vocational schools, and a graduate school offering education in various health-related disciplines, training future physicians, dentists, specialist doctors, and other healthcare professionals. Geographically situated advantageously among health-themed universities, Afyonkarahisar province, where our campus is located, holds significant importance in terms of resources, transportation facilities, and accommodation options, being centrally located in Western Anatolia. AFSU Health Application and Research Center feature thermal therapy and rehabilitation pools for treatment purposes. Traditionally practiced spa treatments are scientifically applied under the supervision of specialized faculty members, physiotherapists, and physical therapy technicians. Patients with paralysis, those who underwent orthopedic surgeries, and those requiring intensive rehabilitation benefit from the therapeutic properties of thermal waters. Students from the AFSU Faculty of Health Sciences Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department, as well as from Atatürk Vocational School of Health Sciences Physiotherapy Department, receive education and internships in spa treatments.
