Cooperation Agreement Between Turkey and Guinea
Türkiye and Guinea have signed a cooperation agreement in the field of higher education.
YÖK (Council of Higher Education) President Erol Özvar stated that, according to the UNESCO Institute for Statistics, Turkey hosts 2.9% of the total number of international students worldwide. Özvar said, 'In addition to being the country with the most students in the European Higher Education Area, Turkey ranks 8th among the OECD countries most preferred by international students in 2024.'
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration, and Guineans Living Abroad of Guinea, Dr. Morissanda Kouyate, and his delegation visited the Council of Higher Education. During the visit, the 'Memorandum of Understanding between the Council of Higher Education and the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation of Guinea on Cooperation in Higher Education' was signed.
In his speech at the Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony, YÖK President Erol Özvar emphasized that they continue to strengthen their cooperation towards the internationalization of higher education. Stating that Turkey aims to be a center of attraction in this period when internationalization and student mobility are increasing, Özvar noted that they want to work much more closely with Guinea, especially in the fields of science and technology, as well as in the field of higher education.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration, and Guineans Living Abroad of Guinea, Dr. Morissanda Kouyate, said, 'There is not only cooperation but also brotherhood between Guinea and Turkey. We will be very happy to strengthen our cooperation in all areas.
