The founding foundation of the university, the Turkish Traffic Accidents Assistance Foundation, was established in 1972. The foundation's mission is to prevent traffic, workplace, sports, and other accidents, as well as disasters, and to provide emergency medical and rehabilitation services for injuries and illnesses resulting from such events. To facilitate these goals, higher education institutions and schools have been established to work on these issues collaboratively. The primary aim of founding the university was to address significant societal concerns related to accidents, disasters, and physical and mental health problems. The university seeks to develop preventive, protective, and therapeutic methods, guiding the public on health, education, and public services, fostering awareness and methods related to these issues, and shaping interactions and behaviors between countries, state institutions, and individuals. It also aims to train competent professionals in these fields.
The university ensures that each student can engage in their respective fields at a modern level, with access to all kinds of publications and resources, including the internet, by requiring them to learn English. After a one-year preparatory period, students receive additional vocational foreign language programs to help them excel in their chosen fields. The university provides library facilities and computer laboratories for students to learn computer skills. Online educational tools and resources are also available.
For the Faculty of Medicine, the Dr. Rıdvan Ege Health Research and Application Hospital in Balgat, with 260 beds, is available to provide services.
